Subsurface builds for Debian

What's supported

Currently: Builds for Debian Buster/Oldoldstable, Bullseye/Oldstable, Bookworm/Stable, Trixie/Testing, Sid/Unstable, for amd64 and i386, as well as for Raspberry Pi OS (Bullseye and Bookworm) armhf and arm64.

How to use

1. Install the repo keyring (only needs to be done once)

$ wget
$ sudo dpkg -i subsurface-dfx-repo-keyring_1.0_all.deb

SHA-256 checksums:

1e63c97cdf8b7cccc4b94b9e24fd8f87a26ae629bf0ba0a34d879d859786d0db  subsurface-dfx-repo-keyring_1.0_all.deb

This is key ID 9FA760DDD3F1129212945FC9F3A9104FC8AF6881, also available via key servers.

(For verification: These same instructions signed with the same key)

2. Add the repo to your sources (only needs to be done once) - pick your distro


$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] oldoldstable main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

OR Buster:

$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] buster main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/


$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] oldstable main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

OR Bullseye:

$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] bullseye main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

OR Stable:

$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] stable main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

OR Bookworm:

$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] bookworm main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

OR Testing:

$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] testing main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

OR Trixie:

$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] trixie main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

OR Sid:

$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] sid main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

OR Unstable:

$ echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] unstable main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

3. Update APT cache

$ sudo apt update

4. Install Subsurface

Stable release:

$ sudo apt install subsurface

OR development/beta snapshot (one of, or both of):

$ sudo apt install subsurface-beta # GUI application
$ sudo apt install subsurface-beta-downloader # headless downloader
